So… Who Is Chris Hughes?
One of my life missions is to positively impact the lives of over 10 million people. I love to surf, study marketing and business, and travel the world with my incredible girlfriend.
I build niche audiences and some of my accomplishments include:
- Over 10 MILLION FANS on my various Facebook Fan Pages
– 4,356 fans on my personal fan page Chris Hughes Facebook Fan Page - Currently 90,704 followers on my Instagram network
- 1,822 on my personal YouTube channel – Chris Hughes YouTube
- Over 20,000 subscribers on different niche YouTube channels I run (currently building these up)
But it wasn’t always this way…
In fact, I struggled in college… quite a bit. I had started learning about social media marketing, and would attend networking events to try to sell services to business owners in Buffalo NY (where I was living at the time)… and it didn’t always work out that well.
In fact, that’s where the whole brand of WhosChrisHughes came about.
It was a freezing morning in Buffalo and I was in one of my early morning classes (probably 9am) when the professor was doing attendance. I wasn’t really paying attention (my focus was always elsewhere) and he said my name once or twice and then said “Who’s Chris Hughes”… and it felt like a lightbulb went off in my head.
I AM!!!!
So when I got back from class that day I hopped online and bought this domain name to start my brand. Little did I realize at that moment, my life would go on an entirely different trajectory.
Traditional Education (Doesn’t actually contribute in any way to my life/business):
– Went to the University at Albany for my freshman year and got a 2.14 GPA but partied way too much and transferred to a community college to save money.
– Graduated with an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Broome Community College in 2008.
– Graduated from Buffalo State College in 2010 Business Administration (although I haven’t used anything from college in my business)
My real education took place OUTSIDE of the classroom. I’m obsessed with learning and like to tell myself I have an “unquenchable thirst for knowledge”.
It’s led me to dive deep into a variety of subjects and has helped me a lot throughout the years.
After college, I packed my bags and moved to Orlando, Florida where I successfully entered a career in corporate America! Just kidding, I took odd jobs and valet parked cars for the Orlando Magic (completely incredible opportunity) and ended up being a door host (bouncer lol) at Universal Studios and that led me to become a bartender for that business.
I lived in Orlando for about 2 years and had some incredible times there, but I knew I wanted more…
I was still dabbling with the idea of making money online, and I had some very minor successes with it during that time. There was absolutely no chance I’d be able to succeed with it… that was until opportunity knocked.
My entire life changed when I became a Digital Nomad in 2012. I had some friends whose dad was a successful direct response salesperson who was living in Panama. They said I could go with them and learn from him, so I took them up on the opportunity.
That led me to live out of 2 backpacks and travel the world for the next 6 years…
Random tidbits about me…
- Traveled to over 30 countries while living out of 2 backpacks
- Ran with the bulls in Pamplona Spain
- Swam with stingrays in the Cayman Islands
- Surfed 15 foot waves in Costa Rica and Bali
- Did a cage-free shark dive in the Bahamas
- Climbed the Sydney Bridge
- Attended the Songkran Thai New Year’s Day celebration where everyone runs around with super soakers for the day.
- Quit my job as a bartender in 2012 to pursue my business (I had about $12k credit card debt and about $200 in my checking account when I moved to Panama to learn from a mentor in 2012)
- Over 10 million social media fans that have no idea that I’m the face behind the niche. (This was designed this way to keep my privacy and be able to sell everything if I chose to)
- 350,000+ leads generated (honestly I stopped keeping count because it got to be too many to count) I ran one offer that I actually brought in over 100,000 leads for one company.
- I first started selling online (eBay) in 2002
- Paid off credit card debt in 1 month because of lead generation
- Designed the life of my dreams
