Creating Evergreen Content Instead of Product Focused Content

If you are a promoter of any type of direct sales or direct marketing company, you’ll want to watch this video.

The first thing to consider is what kind of business you are promoting. Once you know this, you’ll have a better idea of the complementary types of content that the audience will want to learn.

For instance, if you’re promoting a wellness product… you’ll want to create videos all about general health and wellness.

Creating videos and content around things like walking challenges, pushup challenges, or just general tips and tricks people can use to live a healthier life.

This kind of content can live on beyond the life of the company you’re promoting. That can be a little scary to think about as well. You’re probably excited about your company and feel like you’ll promote it forever. However, things do happen.

Companies can go out of business or products can be discontinued. So if you spend your time creating content around something that ends up being discontinued, you lose that time.

On the other hand, if you create content around the idea of general wellness and provide people with a way to get onto your email list, they can become a customer for life.

If you look at it this way, spending the time to create evergreen content makes more sense.

Spending time to create a piece of content that will be valuable no matter when a viewer watches it. If you’re providing useful advice and tips to your viewer, that advice should still be relevant 10 and 20 years from now.

That will allow you to think a little differently about how you create your content.

I hope this helps and doesn’t discourage you from creating content. It’s in your best interest to create as much as possible today so that it can continue to be an asset for you tomorrow.
