Earlier today I was cleaning up my computer’s desktop and I had a folder saved called “101 Reasons Why I Do What I Do”. I opened it up and found out there was only one thing written down in this Microsoft word document.
“Write out a list of 101 reasons why you do what you do. Scott says it’ll help you understand more about why you are the way you are and how you can better capitalize on it.”
This was written while I was attending the Extreme Business Makeovers event while Scott Ginsberg of HELLO My Name Is Scott was giving a speech. Scott is a young guy who I really connected to when he spoke. He was just like where I’m at a few years ago when he graduated college. He knew he wanted to live a fulfilled life and knew that working for someone else wasn’t really the way he was going to do it.
Scott said something that really resonated with me during his speech, “If you don’t know where you’re going, no one can stop you”. This pretty much sums up what I’ve been doing for the past few years. I had a general idea of what I wanted to do, but I really don’t know EXACTLY where I’m going and how I’m going to get there.
Scott had talked about how difficult it was for him to create his list of 101 reasons but he said it helped him out. When he said that, I opened up a word document and vowed to do that. Well, I got busy and just got to it today. I decided that since my brand is now evolving that I should probably share my list with you. I am a little hesitant about sharing this list because it shares some things that I feel weird about sharing.
But, this is part of me stepping out of my comfort zone and evolving as a person. So here goes nothing.

Well, there you have it. There is a list of 101 reasons why I do what I do. Now I challenge you to do the same thing. It’s a lot harder than it looks and believe me, you WILL learn something about yourself. Looking back on all of these reasons why I feel like I will always have a reason WHY from now on. If I’m struggling to finish a project or to do something, I will always have this list to look at to keep me motivated.
My only question to you is…Will you make your own list or will you just carry on with your day? The choice truly is yours. I’d love if you would commit to doing a list with me. You don’t have to share it publicly like I did here because honestly it is weird having a list like this out in the public. However, I feel like it will help me grow as a person and that’s why I chose to share it.
Leave a comment below telling me IF you plan on creating a list for yourself. It’s a challenge that you will be happy you finished.
ps- I got STUCK at 49 initially. Let me know where you get stuck. I look forward to hearing from you.
