The Tenth Trait of Successful Entrepreneurs

by Chris Hughes on February 23, 2010

PASSION.

I’ve already written a post on passion based on the book Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk

Basically you need to be passionate as all hell about the success of your business. You need to be willing to stay up late working and wake up early to finish your projects. You need to absolutely LOVE what you are doing and this will lead to you never working a day in your life, but enjoying your passion every day of your life.

The book definitely explains how you can find your passion and pursue it so check out the book review of Crush It!

Think about Michael Jordan… he was the most passionate basketball player of his time. He would bust his ass every single day and that’s the reason he was successful. Oh yeah, he got cut from his high school basketball team. However his PASSION to succeed in basketball led him to becoming the greatest ball player of all time. What is your excuse?

    Hi Chris,

I definitely agree, without passion for your work, it's work. When we love what we do it's fun and exciting, and we can't wait to get out of bed in the morning to begin.

That's a far cry from having a J.O.B. (just over broke….)! Thanks for this series, you've really hit the nail on the head here!

Finding our passion, then being active and laying around on the couch will help us succeed. Thanks for this post!

Hey Kathy, you are absolutely right. If we aren't passionate about something it is work. Loving what we do is part of being an Entrepreneur, even if its REALLY difficult at times. For instance, for me right now it is very difficult being a full-time student, building up an Internet Marketing for offline business company as well as hosting workshops teaching online marketing really takes up a lot of time.. however, the cool thing is that I LOVE what I'm doing so it makes it all worth it :)

In fact, I was up until 5am last night working on another tutorial for clients… my mom wakes up at 5am and I was just going to bed then haha. I guess when passion strikes you just run with it :)

I'm glad this series has helped you out. What else would you like to see on my blog?

Hey Bill, finding our passion and actively pursuing our passion definitely helps. Did you mean to put laying around on the couch helping or was that a mis-type :-p

Laying around hasn't helped me at all but if you can shed some light on this I'd love to achieve more by laying on my couch :)

Thanks Chris, and thanks for the initial challenge too. All 3 of your points belong on this list for sure; although the third one troubles me. I think sometimes the vision
You call it large vision .
Also can push to make up for a just-normal-size ego. Maybe.
