The Story of Tim the Hitchhiker

by Chris Hughes on March 11, 2010

This is a story that I wrote for my Humanities class last semester. We were reading a book about love and war as that was the basis of the course. I don’t remember the name of the book that we were reading at the time but it definitely wasn’t about what I wrote about.

Anyways, here’s the story that you all have been waiting for…

“Tim was in a struggle to cross into Canada because his car broke down and it was a dark and rainy night. He was not having a good day at all and this was not helping him at all. Tim decided that it would be a good idea to try and hitchhike his way to the border and got picked up by a nice older lady who happened to be driving down the road.

However, after traveling with this generous old lady for over two hours to the border, Tim realized that he had left his passport in his car so he could not enter the country. Tim decided that the best thing to do would be to sneak into Canada on the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team bus dressed in the mascot’s costume.

So, Tim followed the mascot into the bathroom at the rest area and beat up the mascot, stealing his costume and putting it on. He got back onto the bus and they continued on their way. The bus was allowed back into Canada.

Upon arrival in Canada, Tim decided to chase his life-long dream and became a Canadian Mountie and realized how much he loved Canada.”

I actually turned in this as an essay, as I did not read for the test because I was busy with other classes + my personal business and already had an A in the class (I busted my butt at the beginning) this didn’t affect my grade and my professor started cracking up when she read this. We were watching a movie in class and she was sitting over in the corner reading and grading the paper and I was watching her reaction. She started chuckling and then just flat out laughing out loud. She then looked over at me and said “I love your story” and read it to the class after the movie was over.

Life should be fun. Make it fun. Tell stories. Be different. Be original. Make life fun for other people.

Awesome! I have been known to write some pretty outrageous things for classes! If I can find some of them (showing my age here) I will post them out.
    Well done love! :-)
