Social Media is definitely filling this void. I know i'm not that old and didn't really get to experience life without the conveniences of cell phones, mobile web and iPods. But over the past few years I have noticed how Gen Y has let them kind of take over for us. It affects everything we do, I feel like I haven't had as many good random conversations with people in my generation in a long time. Over this summer I met some great girl's from NYC who we had great conversation but that was over the summer when the beach is all that is on my mind. :)

I feel like I'm missing out on a ton of great little conversations with our generation, but then again Social Media is allowing me to have more of these great conversations....but in a digital medium..

Without exercise and meditation, I would reach total burnout. I know of many people who are obsessed with work (I was one of them/still partially am) and it really isn't fulfilling if we don't take time to truly enjoy some free time and just plain ole sweat it out.

Thanks for the comment Alex! I look forward to learning more about you and hopefully helping you out in some way or another :)

So true...but I think social media is filling that void for human interaction and opening up new levels of interaction and fulfillment, especially with video chat through gmail/skype, the upcoming launch of Google Wave, whatever the case may be, this is all new and I think we're getting such a social boom because of people having been buried in their technology over the last 5 years.

I really like how you list meditation and exercise as essentials to your work, people can't kid themselves, they can get along fine over the short-term, maybe even 3-5 years, but by 10 years not taking care of your body will catch up with you, and even worse you might not be able to enjoy the fruits of all of your hard labor.
