The other day I watched the movie In Time with Justin Timberlake.
I have heard that the movie was really good from quite a few different friends so we decided to watch it.
DAMN is this movie pretty crazy.
The concept behind it is quite scary, but is fairly accurate if you look at it from another perspective.
In a future where people stop aging at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. Here, Will Salas finds himself accused of murder and is on the run with a hostage – a connection that becomes an important part of the way against the system.
Basically, all of the people in the movie are given “time” and that is the only form of currency.
You need to get a cab ride? It’ll cost you 15 minutes.
You need to get food? That’ll cost ya an hour.
Each of the things you need to get will cost you minutes of your life.
What would you do if you knew the exact amount of time that you had left on this Earth?
Would you make it count?
I was pretty impressed with the way that the movie was put together and how interesting the whole concept was. It really made me think about what I was doing with my life and if I was doing things that would be truly impactful on this earth.
Am I using my time in the most beneficial way possible? Are there other ways that I should be spending my time each and every day?
