I manage a lot of websites.
Especially since I started creating affiliate blogs.
With those affiliate blogs, I need to have every one of those little sites up and running every single day, all day long.
If I don’t have that site up and running and someone goes to the site that I personally recommend and put my stamp of approval on and that site is down…I lose credibility.
If I put my time into creating something or finding a site that I believe will be of value to my readers, I expect that site to work 100% of the time. Not 95% of the time.
Not 97% of the time.
Not even 99% of the time.
HostGator didn’t do that for me. Well, they used to.
But it really wasn’t 100% of the time then either. It was more like 97% but it didn’t bother me because I didn’t have all those affiliate blogs up and running and making me money.
Now that those sites make sales at all hours of the day, they need to be up. If they aren’t, I miss out on money.
I spent time building those sites, writing content that helped people and monetizing those sites so that they would make me money.
I followed a specific system and it was working.
When one part of the system breaks, the whole thing breaks.
HostGator was apparently the weakest link, goodbye.
Anyway, I’m switching all of my sites over to BlueHost and will hopefully have a great experience with them.
You can learn more about BlueHost here. I should probably write about why I’m choosing them as my new host…
I’ll do that in another blog.
Last month I entered the Mobile Money Bandit affiliate contest. It was a contest to help promote the Mobile Money Bandit “Tap N Talk” marketing.
This was the first time i’ve won something that made my jaw truly drop. I won a brand new MacBook Air!!!!
I spent a good amount of time promoting this, creating blog posts, videos, sharing it on social media sites and working with others to become a point leader in the contest. It’s honestly amazing what a little bit of work and some effort can do.
Just remember that when you work hard, good things do happen. It doesn’t always happen right away, but if you continue to do good things for other people you often end up receiving good things 🙂
I’m so grateful for winning this contest, but winning this has simply motivated me to do more, work smarter, and win more contests like these!
Check out the video of it’s arrival:
Over the past few months I’ve been doing something that you may or may not know about….
No, I didn’t become a stripper. Get your mind out of the gutter!
I have started to create little websites that are created for the sole purpose of making me money. Yes, I am spending time on things that will make money and yes they have started to make me money. Yay!
The sites I’ve started to create are called Sniper Blogs. A Sniper Blog is basically a niche blog, but with the idea that you are getting very specific and picking a great target to take down, just like snipers taking down important targets.
These Sniper Blogs are very easy to create. Each blog takes about 4 hours to create, add the right plug-ins, optimize, add content, perform basic SEO and then release them into the wild. The reason I started creating these sites is because I like leverage.
With Sniper Blogs, I am creating assets. Assets are something that is going to pay you whether you do anything to it or not. It’s similar to having a house where you rent out and having the monthly income coming in without you doing much. The advantage of these sniper blogs is that it costs me about $30 to create + the 3-5 hours of work for each site.
This means that I could choose to work for 40 hours in 1 week and create 10 of these Sniper Blogs. I’ll use an average of about $5 per month per Sniper Blog that I create. This would mean that every blog I create makes me $5 per month. I know this isn’t a lot of money, but it’s a start if you aren’t doing anything that makes you $5 a month. With 10 blogs being created, that’s $50 a month. If you can repeat the process 4 times in 1 month, you’ll have 40 blogs and ~$200 a month passive income.
Right now I only have 25 Sniper Blogs created because I have been working on different aspects of my business. The cool thing is that whenever I log into my Clickbank account or Amazon Affiliate account, I see that I’ve made sales. To be honest, I haven’t added content to a few of these Sniper Blogs since I created them a few months ago, yet they continue to make sales. (I guess I’m lazy)
My buddy Ryan Magin has been creating these Sniper Blogs for a while now and averages $200 a day. He is the person who taught me how to create these Sniper Blogs and is now giving away a free video to teach you how to do the same.
Ryan lays out the exact system he uses in this training and from the free videos, you’ll be able to start doing this within an hour of watching the trainings. You’ll need to take action on this if you want it to work for you though. These sniper blogs only work if you work.
Just so you know, Ryan does sell training after the free video if you want. If you choose to take him up on the offer (I did and am glad I did) then I will be given a little bit of a commission for pointing you in the right direction. This means I’ll get a little bit of money, which is always good because I like money and I know this stuff will help you.
Affiliate Marketing is something that I’ve been doing for a while now. In fact, it’s one of the first things I got into when I learned that it was possible to make money online.
One of the reasons I love affiliate marketing is that you can make money from things that you forget about. Like this video here that I created a long time ago…
I did research and found out that girls were looking for this information in 2009 when the video was released. I found something, took action and made a silly video that led to a sale recently. I created this video February 10, 2009 and it’s been making sales for me since it was originally put up. Two days ago I received another message from Clickbank telling me I made another sale. This sale was for promoting Mike Geary’s Truth About Abs product and was for $26.30. I’d say that’s pretty nice from doing something that took about 15 minutes to create, over 2 years ago. It’s sad how bad that video is too, but I was just getting started with video marketing….so far this simple video has made me over $200. I’d say that’s pretty good for less than an hours worth of work, wouldn’t you?
I don’t know about you, but I personally think it’s awesome when I get messages like this from stuff that I completely forgot that I did. Good thing I spent some time creating little videos like this back when I first learned about video marketing, right? 😉 This is a little reminder that by taking action, no matter how simple and unprofessional it is, will sometimes make sales.
There’s also the opportunity to create products and sell them. I decided to do this and created the Juggling Secrets Course. The cool thing about having your own product is that you can make money from other people selling your product for you. Here’s an example of that from about a month ago. I did nothing but create the course, and put it onto Clickbank.com and found some affiliates on YouTube who started putting their link in the description of their juggling videos.
You’ll see under “Vendor” is my username: hughesc15. That’s from the Juggling course I created. It’s 100% online and downloadable so anyone can get it. The price is $27 and I give my affiliates a 50% commission, you can sign up to become an affiliate for Juggling Secrets here. In that 2 day window, I made 4 sales for a total of $47.36. The cool thing about this is that my affiliates made $50 as well. This means I get to help people make money! In my opinion, that’s pretty cool.
Does affiliate marketing seem like something that you would like to add to your monthly income sources? If it is, I’m going to share with you a few programs that I currently am marketing and feel could be a good fit for you.
This affiliate program is great because it allows you to make money by selling a drag and drop customizable wordpress theme. It’s ridiculously easy and should be extremely easy for you to sell. They also allow you to give away 10 MiniSites for FREE which is another unbelievable offer that you can sell online.
That’s a great question, and deserves a great answer. Mainly because it allows you to leverage your time and create content that will make sales for you for months, or even years later (like the example above). It’s something that takes a little time up-front, but down the road it will pay off for you. If you currently have a full-time job, you can spend some of your free time after work creating some simple websites that generate a few extra dollars a month. One book that is great for this is Moonlighting on the Internet by Yanik Silver
Affiliate Marketing isn’t all good and customers aren’t always happy with their products. There are refunds and there are people who create products that lead to a ton of refunds. I personally don’t promote products that I feel aren’t any good. If a product isn’t good, you really shouldn’t do any types of promotion for it because it’s going to jeopardize your credibility and will lead to upset customers.Yes, this means that sometimes you’ll have to actually buy products before you start promoting them. You might think it sucks that you’ll have to spend money on these products, but in reality it will give you a better understanding of what is actually inside the product you are promoting. This means if a product sucks, you can get your money back and not promote it!
My friend Brendan Wenzel just created a site to help people like you and me find affiliate products that are actually good products. He was sick of seeing people just cash in on product launch after product launch without having a product that truly helped the buyer. What he is doing is awesome and you should check out his new site at http://LaunchKarma.com
Brendan created Launch Karma to bring some accountability to the Internet Marketing industry and I love that he is doing this.
This is going to be a part of a 2 or 3 part blog series to help you learn how to become a successful affiliate marketer. Part 2 is coming soon…
