I first off wanted to show you what successful brands are doing so you can learn from them and mimic what they do. The next thing I want you to learn is the 7 reasons why your business shouldn’t use twitter.

So here’s the artice of 40 of the best Twitter brands

Now onto the 7 Reasons why your business shouldn’t use Twitter for Customer Service.

  1. It’s too much of a hassle. You do realize that using twitter to manage your customer service takes time, right? I’m talking serious time here. Depending on the size of your business you will be spending anywhere from 1-8 hours a DAY tweeting, tracking and connecting with people to help solve their problems. I know what you’re thinking, damn what did I get myself into?
  2. Twitter is only for the young crowd. Face it, your too old to be on Twitter. I mean, you can’t even use the computer to check your e-mail without having to call your grandson to figure out how to turn the damn thing on. Oh wait, you’re reading this article and learning…maybe you are qualified to use Twitter, we will disregard this reason.
  3. Twitter sounds like a dirty word. Doesn’t it kind of sound like a dirty word to you? To me personally I’ve been born told not to swear or use dirty words. As a business, you definitely don’t want to be using dirty words, right? Oh wait…it isn’t a dirty word? I guess it sounds enough like a dirty word to be considered one, right?
  4. Social Media is just a fad. This is definitely the truth. It’s a proven fact that Facebook has over 500 million users who are extremely active. I bet these people are all going to just quit using social media tomorrow so you shouldn’t worry about it being around very long. Oh yeah, Twitter only has barely over 190 MILLION people on it. This means that it’s definitely not something that people use, EVER.
  5. It won’t work for your business. You and I both know that no one ever has questions about your product and service, everyone is always 100% happy with it from the minute they buy it until the end of the world. No one ever complains about anything and everything is perfect. The questions that people have are definitely not being talked about online, in fact your products perfect so you have nothing to worry about.
  6. You need to have 100,000 followers to make money on twitter. As you know, helping one person doesn’t ever amount to anything for your business. In fact, you should totally ignore everybody. If someone actually posted how they felt about your product on the internet, it doesn’t matter. I mean, the average Twitter user only has 27 followers. 27 people isn’t anything, right? And just think, if one of those 27 people re-tweets something, it’s only another 27 people. So all in all, only 54 people would see a problem with your product. You definitely don’t need to worry about them, they don’t care.
  7. Only giant brands use Twitter. Damn right only large brands use twitter. In fact all small companies that have ever tried to use twitter have failed miserably, losing over 1000000000 BAGILLION dollars each day because they tried to use twitter. Oh wait, Entrepreneur.com has a story about how small businesses can successfully use twitter. I guess that means that some small businesses are actually using twitter and succeeding with it.

Alright so at this point, you probably realize that using twitter is completely out of question for your business. You’re absolutely right! You should completely ignore all the success stories and focus on being a bum, that’s how successful businesses are built. Actually at this point, you may realize that Twitter is a tool that you NEED to start incorporating into your marketing strategy ASAP.

If this is the case, I’m glad that I could open your eyes to the true potential that Twitter has to offer your business.(239/365) Eyesore

This is a very interesting blog post right here Chris. I feel with some companies using twitter they could have a higher brand and really grow in a sense with it. As twitter is a very viral social platform that could benefit there company in many ways. Yes, some small companies have failed using twitter but that is because they probably did not have the guidance in understanding the advantages of twitter and what not to use twitter as well. Some people feel that just because they put up a twitter profile that they would have 100,000 followers in one month and that is not the cause if you are not Kim Khardasian or a multi million dollar business as Nike or Home Depot.

I agree that Twitter is a very viral platform and something that a lot of companies could benefit from implementing.

You're absolutely right that many of these companies may have not been taught the true way to use these networks to grow their business. Haha I agree that too many people are “sold” on the marketing side of twitter in that well Kim Khardashian has 100,000 people and Ashton Kutcher has 2 million, why can't I have that many?

It's more important for them to focus on quality local followers and not quantity of followers. Maybe this calls for another blog post? :)
