Some of these points are good for any kind of marketing. I am just writing a post now that talks about your first commandment as part of 3 essential ingredients to ANY form of marketing. You need to know who you want to connect with before you start talking.Great graphic Chris.

Great reminders Chris! Thanks for posting. I think one of the most profound of those 10 is the one about patience. Network and affiliate marketing have both gained an unfortunate and much-misguided reputation over the years of being nothing more than get-rich-quick schemes. As we who are committed to this industry and our own respective businesses all know, that is so far from the truth as to be insane! It takes long hours and hard work to bring a solid affiliate or network marketing business to fruition.

There will always be those out to generate the 1000s of leads and make the quick buck, but they will also be the ones to be quick to spend all that quick-earned cash, burn out, and fall quickly by the wayside. Good for them. Leaves the serious business, long-term relationships and solid income to the rest of us who are willing to remain patient, lay the foundation, build our systems, and stay the course.

Chris,

Those commandments are so very true. If you're not being of service to your audience, providing value to them and being a person that they can trust, your affiliate career will be short-lived.

In today's world it's about relationships… and those 10 Commandments are a very good way to create and maintain quality relationships.

Thank you so much for passing this on. Very, very good advice!

Thanks,
~ Pat and Lorna

Hey Steve my pleasure! Patience is definitely a virtue and something that took me a while to learn. I had the “get-rich quick mindset” when I first started…little did I know that patience would win out in the end. But, I have learned and now am building for the long term 🙂

Thanks Bill. haha I definitely need a wall as well. The wall on my apt currently has 2 vision boards, an image of a golf course with “Precision: Knowing what you want is the first step towards achievement.”, a Bob Marley poster, a picture of the Duke bball team :-p

Can't wait until I move into a bigger place and can have more inspirational stuff on my walls
